Jerome (Jerry) G. Lake, Ph.D., is owner and principal of Systems Management International, a consulting and training firm. His former positions include: Command Pilot and R&D Manager in the US Air Force; Consultant/Project Manager for strategic systems with Systems Planning Corporation; Adjunct Professor of Systems Management at the University of Southern California; Business School Professor and Dean at Oklahoma Baptist University and at Salisbury State University; Director of Graduate Technical and Engineering Management Programs at the University of Maryland; and Faculty Member in Systems Engineering at the Defense Systems Management College. Dr. Lake is an aerospace engineer with earned advanced degrees from the University of Michigan (Master of Science) and University of Oklahoma (Doctor of Philosophy). He is a graduate of the US Military Academy (BS - Engineering). Dr. Lake has been a key member of author teams for both commercial and military standards on systems engineering including ANSI/EIA 632, Processes for Engineering a System, IEEE 1220 Application and Management of the Systems Engineering Process, and Mil-Std-499B Systems Engineering. Since 1996 he has been a member of JTC1/SC7/WG7 that is preparing the ISO/IEC standard 15288, System Life Cycle Processes. He is the Project Editor for the Guide to 15288. Additionally he has authored numerous articles on systems engineering, engineering management, project management, and related topics. |
Jerry is a founding member of the International Council on Systems Engineering, was its first elected president and served on the Board of Directors for seven years. He is recipient of the INCOSE Founders Award. Dr. Lake is a Fellow of the American Society for Engineering Management and recognized in Men of Achievement and Who's Who in the World, in the East and Southeast United States, and in American Education.
