Well, I'm probably a bit biased since I'll openly admit I work for a group of TI located in Mass., but I'm not associated with marketing or developing the IEF product, we're as much a customer as you might be. The IEF tool is a first class product though, given that it matches up with the environment that you want to deliver applications for. It encourages an organized approach, and DEFINATELY does result in productivity improvements compared to "hand coding", we've seen that in projects we've used it on (Mainframe delivery, DB2 DBMS). Certainly isn't a casual purchase, as you probably already know, it seems to be targetted toward larger shops price wise, and that's why I think it doesn't show up in as many of the trade rags. We've been using the OS/2 Developers Workstation for a while now where you can design, code and test all on your workstatio with very good results.
